Bowtie doesn’t scrobble to last.fm, solution

Apparently there are some issues with Bowtie when using the last.fm integration.
Remember I'm using Snow Leopard.
Bowtie is a valid freeware alternative to CoverSutra for managing iTunes, showing cover art, current song, etc.
Using version 1.0b2 I found out two things:
- if you open the preference pane, Last.fm and check "Enabled", the checkbox goes automatically away
- it doesn't scrobble
A workaround to fix the first problem is to leave the checkbox alone and instead enable last.fm integration by right clicking the icon in the upper tray and selecting "Enable Last.fm".
The solution to the fact that isn't scrobbling is to capitalize your last.fm username in preferences, so for example if my username is "kain82" I will write "Kain82".
With those settings in place it does seem working, however I'll keep this post as reference for future updates on the matter.
Oh, and if you're into metal, add me to your friends over last.fm ;)

simply put, many applications that does control itunes that are running from the menu bar have last.fm integration by simply following last.fm APIs.
All they do is storing your last.fm username/password combo (or access the existing keychain items) and start scrobbling.
scrobbling means telling last.fm that you actually listened to the current song.
usually in non official last.fm clients scrobbling happens at 60% of the song duration, howerver scrobbling should not happen < 50%.
Some other client apart Bowtie also integrate advanced last.fm functions, like the chance to “love” the track, which essentially is a bookmark to the current song, and send it over to last.fm.
Bowtie still doesn’t integrate advanced last.fm support.
I stopped using the official last.fm client + itunes due to the client sucking 100% cpu at certain times.

Thank you! I am new to Bowtie and was having this problem on OSX 10.5. The checkbox was marked but it failed to scrobble. The issues was fixed when I made the selection via the upper tray.

it should be noted however that I switched back to CoverSutra again, thus losing the chance to love one track, because Bowtie stop scrobbling after a while, even with the above workarounds :(
